Couture-Quality: Curtains, Drapes & Shades
Hand-sewn curtains and shades just hang better. That’s not our opinion. It’s simply a fact. A machine is a blunt instrument when it comes to tension; the stitching can pucker and pull. And don’t get us started on off-the-rack drapes! When it comes to sewing hems, only an artisan’s hand can modulate the tension of the thread. Et voila! No puckers or pulls. More importantly: Your bespoke curtains and shades will drape to perfection.*
Do you want a more fabulously personal fabric? Ask us about custom hand-screened prints from Ink & Spindle, or custom digital prints from RM Coco.
*Not every budget or room of the house allows for couture-quality window curtains and shades. (When it comes to the playroom or the man cave, we don’t always splurge.) For clients who require machine hemming, we check and adjust hem tensions by hand to ensure a more perfect drape.
Hard Treatments
Custom top treatments are wonderful for layering over blinds and shades. We can create cornices, valances and more.
We love exploring different looks, and one of the looks we love is the clean, classic look of hard window treatments. Shutters and shades offer privacy while preserving a picturesque view; solar shades can keep your home significantly cooler. And all of our hard window treatments can be motorized for greater ease and accessibility.
Hard treatments include:
Roller Shades
Valances and Cornices
Natural Woven Wood Roman Shades
Wood and Faux-wood Blinds
Shutters
Screens & Panels
Most of our hard treatments can be motorized, to respond to your command or to Alexa’s, Siri’s or Google’s.
We partner with select brands to provide you with hard window treatments at a variety of price points. When appropriate (think: woven woods and honeycomb shades), further customization of the products is available, including premium operation systems.
Hardware & Installation
Beautiful window treatments frame your view and sculpt your interior space. We are very particular about installing window treatments to precise specifications. Our clients are, too.
To ensure a perfect fit, our team of master craftspeople:
Takes precise measurements of your space
Calculates the fold and stack of your fabric
Engineers required hardware
Installs your window treatments
Our team includes specialists from many craft traditions. If a blacksmith is required for the perfect fit, so be it!
Motorization
Stop tugging on cords and fiddling with little plastic wands: Almost any curtain, shade or window treatment we create or sell can be motorized.
Motorized curtains and shades remind us of our work for the stage, making magical transformations possible. Our motorized window treatments are convenient, ADA-accessible and some can even be controlled remotely from anywhere in the world.
